A big, bold nautical chart of all of Aotearoa, built up in layers of birch. Every layer follows a real depth line from bathymetric charts, so the sea steps down from the shallows around the coast to the deep water offshore, and you can trace the shape of the seabed with your fingers.
Towns, roads, harbours and depth soundings are laser engraved into the wood, from Auckland and Gisborne to Wellington, Greymouth and New Plymouth under Taranaki. The water layers are stained by hand, so no two charts are quite the same.
62 × 79 cm (24.5 × 31 in), framed and ready to hang. Two colourways: a dark brown frame with greenish-blue water, or a rustic grey frame with greyish-blue water.
Birch layers, wood frame with no resin, finished to show the natural grain. Because every board is different, the grain and the movement of the pour on yours will differ slightly from the photo.
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Hang or place away from heat sources and strong direct sun.
Free delivery to any New Zealand address. Large pieces travel by courier or a specialist furniture carrier, or can be collected from the shop. Tell us about stairs or a narrow entrance when you order so delivery can be planned.
